Kupwara, Sept 23: On the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah visited the bereaved families of road accident victims who recently died when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge on Machil- Kupwara road resulting in the death of 5 passengers and injures to 4 other persons.
Mr Mir along with Ex- MLA Qaiser Jamsheed Lone visited the bereaved families at Chottwari and Sarakul Kalaroos to express their heart- felt condolence on the tragic accident besides extending ex-gratia relief of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 13000 each to the injured. The Minister conveyed his sympathies and prayed for peace to the departed souls and early recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, the Law Minister also chaired a meeting with the District Administration to take stock of various development related works and reviewed the status of essential services and commodities. He asked the District Administration to ensure adequate stocks of essential items in the District ahead of the winter months for the convenience of the general public.
