JAMMU, Jan 30: Senior basketball coach of STC Jammu, Amarjeet Singh, who recently superannuated after three decades of illustrious service in Sports Authority of India shall feature in the hyped ‘Guru Shishya’ spectacle which shall mark the beginning of the Khelo India sports competitions starting at New Delhi from January 31.
The rare honour has been extended to him for his yeoman service to the game of basketball during his career, in which he produced over 23 international basketball players. Amarjeet Singh shall feature in the spectacle along with his trainee and current Indian skipper Vishesh Raguvanshi, who was his trainee at the SAI centre at UP intercollege Varanasi for over 10 years.
‘Guru Shishya’ spectacle has been designed as a special segment of the opening ceremony of the first ever national Khelo India extravaganza being held at the national capital, to imbibe the spirit of ancient ‘Guru Shishya’ tradition of Indian training system.
