MUMBAI, Nov 9: The Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has been directed by the party high command to come on roads to raise voice for the constitutional and democratic rights of the people including restoration of Statehood under ‘Mera Jammu-Kashmir Mera Adhikaar’ movement.
A delegation of Shiv Sena leaders, led by its J&K chief, Manish Sahni, met party national president, Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree in Mumbai today.
Sahni informed Thackeray that more than six years have passed but Statehood has not been restored to J&K.
“BJP, which garnered votes from across the country on the name of restoring peace in J&K and to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits, has left J&K abandoned,” he claimed adding: “Unemployment is at its peak in J&K and the youth are becoming drug addicts out of desperation due to lack of employment.”
The Shiv Sena leader further stated that around 62,000 temporary workers and daily wage earners are on a sit-in protest in J&K for the last 1200 days demanding regularization and daily wages on the lines of the Centre.
“The recent devastating rains have caused floods resulting in massive loss of life and property but the Central Government has not so far released any relief,” he continued.
