Sagar for timely completion of city projects

SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Asking the officers to ensure that the various developmental programmes undertaken by the Government are completed within the stipulated time, the Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affaris, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that by doing so the objective of these welfare measures can be completed and the general public gets the requisite benefits.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting convened to discuss the status of implementation of various developmental projects initiated by the Government in Srinagar city.
District Development Commissioner, Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan, Additional District Commissioner Srinagar, SE R&B and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
Mr. Sagar directed the officers to ensure that the reconstruction work on the revered Dastgeer Sahib Shrine is completed within the time frame given to them as the people from every section of society are emotionally attached to it. He said that proper care should be taken to remove the bottle necks, if any, so that it is reconstructed according to the old pattern and maintained that the extension of the same as well as beautification of its catchment areas should also be carried in consonance with the local architectural and heritage patterns.
The Minister also directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on the other projects like Jamia Masjid, Naagar Nagar, Makhdoom Sahab Ropeway project and beautification of Zainakadal on heritage pattern. He asked officers to visit these areas on regular basis to personally monitor the implementation of these projects.
While referring to the KZP and Syed Meerak Shah road projects, the Minister directed the officers to ensure that the bottle necks if any are removed at an earliest. He asked the officers to work in close coordination in order to oversee the completion of these prestigious projects, which would go a long way in ensuring better traffic regulation in the city.
The Minister also directed the officers to remove the structures which have been acquired in Sheshgari Mohalla and Ali Kadal by providing the requisite compensation to the house owners as well as shopkeepers as early as possible so that the road widening projects are completed within the stipulated time frame.
