Sagar for creating awareness about RD schemes

SRINAGAR, July 18: Stressing the need for creating wide publicity about the various welfare schemes of the department, the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Law and Parliamentary Affairs  Ali Mohammad Sagar today asked to officers to launch massive awareness programme so that more and more people get benefitted from these schemes.
The Minister was speaking after releasing the trilingual publications and translations of various Acts and Schemes of Rural Development Department and Law Department here today. Minister of State for Rural Development, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Commissioner Secretary Rural Development, Farooq Ahmed Peer, Commissioner Secretary Law G.H. Tantray, Director Rural Development Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmed, Director Rural Sanitation, Tufail Mattoo and other senior officers of the department were present.
Mr. Sagar said that by translating of various Acts and Schemes, the reach of them has got boarder as more and more people would be able to understand the intricacies of these and will come forward to avail benefits of the same.
“By undertaking the trilingual translation of the Acts and Schemes, the reach of these would get widened as the people living in rural and far flung areas would also understand and actively involve themselves in effective implementation so that the benefit percolates to the targeted populace”, he maintained.
The Minister while directing officers to maintain utmost transparency in the implementation of these flagship programmes said that care should be taken to ensure that they are implemented as per the already set guidelines. He said that any deviation from the same would be strictly viewed.
Mr. Aijaz Khan while speaking on the occasion asked the officers to act as a bridge between the Government and the people so that the schemes are implemented properly and requisite feedback is also taken. He said that it was due to the coordinated efforts of the department that significant strides have been registered in implementing various flagship programmes.
