Sagar announces Rs 30 lakh for developmental works

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar today conducted an extensive tour of the old city Srinagar to take stock of the developmental works under taken by the Government.
The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Dr. G. N. Qasba and other senior officers of various Departments and executing agencies.
The Minister while inspecting the pace of work on the prestigious ropeway project of Maqdoom Sahib (RA) directed the officers to ensure that it is completed within the shortest possible time so that it can be dedicated to the public. He said that this project will boost the tourist related activities of the area and would be beneficial to the devotees coming to pay obeisance to the revered Maqdoom Sahib shrine.
Mr. Sagar while responding to the demands of the people of Roshangari Mohallah Nowhatta announced that a community hall would be constructed in the area, so that the people of the area get benefitted from the same.
The Minister also announced an amount of Rs 30 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for the construction of culverts, lanes and drains in the Miskenbagh area. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that these works are taken up at the earliest.
While interacting with the deputations of different areas, who raised the issue of LPG, the Minister informed them that the issue has already been taken up with the Union Petroleum Ministry and headway is expected very soon.
