Safaikaramcharis stage protest, raise demands

JAMMU, Nov 29: Civic Safaikaramchari Union here today under the leadership of their President, Rinku Gill staged a protest demonstration and raised demands.
These demands included release of two and half days salaries of the last seven months and addition of this salary in the total monthly salaries.
Another demand of the Union included regularisation of 33 contractual drivers working with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and reorganisation of JMC.
More demands of the Union included filling of the vacant 600 posts of Safaikaramcharis advertised four months back.
The protesters further demanded that the 15 JMC Wards which were outsourced have 500 Safaikaramcharis working there but they are not getting the provident fund facilities as was initially promised by their contractors.
