UDHAMPUR, July 8: As the ongoing indefinite strike by Safai Karamcharis enters into 7th day today, the sanitation condition in the town deteriorated further.
The protesting Safai Karamcharis of Municipal Committee Udhampur, who are demanding regularization of the daily wagers, enhancement of pay at par with State Government employees and two and half day extra pay, held a dharna on Tuesday outside the MCU office. They raised slogans in support of their demands and against the State Government
Due to the ongoing strike, entire Udhampur town seems to have converted into garbage dump with filth scattered here and there emitting foul smell and inviting diseases.
