JAMMU, Nov 20: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) criticized the State Administration for ignoring Punjabi language out of the purview of a Committee constituted by GAD to make recommendations for suggesting syllabus for regional languages for purpose of conducting exams in Union Territory for recruitment to Gazetted and Non-gazetted services.
It was viewed seriously and presumed that this is a deep rooted conspiracy by the vested interest, who are hell bent to damage the multi- linguistic culture of the region. It is surprisingly noted that order seems to have been issued on Nov 1, 2019 only one day after Lieutenant Governor had joined his new assignments.
It clearly indicated that there are some persons in bureaucracy who wants to tarnish the image of LG as only few language experts have been nominated as members of committee while others like Punjabi, Gojri and Urdu have been ignored.
They pointed out that Punjabi language is widely spoken language in the whole region and unemployed youths who are qualified in not only Punjabi but Gojri and Urdu have been targeted and their future has been sealed.
Party strongly objected the stance of GAD and appealed the LG of J&K Union Territory to conduct in depth enquiry in the whole episode and punish the culprits. It is also viewed with concern that Punjabi is our mother tongue and all our religious preachings are in Punjabi script which are indispensable from Sikh Community.
A strong appeal was made to LG of Union Territory of J&K, that Punjabi is restored to its original glory and Punjabi experts be nominated in the said Committee to recommend the syllabus for the recruitment procedures.
Among others who attended the meeting included- Jathedar Mohinder Singh (President), Surinder Singh Advocate, Suchwant Singh, Roshan Singh, Baboo Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Manjit Singh, KN Singh and others.
