Sacred bow crafted by Odisha artisans heads to Ayodhya Ram temple

PURI, Jan 19 : A sacred bow (Dhanu) crafted by artisans from Odisha for the Ayodhya Ram temple began its journey to Ayodhya on Monday after completing several rounds of ‘parikrama’ at the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The bow reached Puri late Sunday night in a ceremonial procession after being unveiled in Bhubaneswar. It was placed at the Uttarparswa Mutt for darshan, where devotees, saints, mahantas of various mutts, and servitors of the Srimandir offered prayers.
The ceremonial bow, measuring eight feet in length and weighing 280 kg, has been made using five metals – gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron.
Organised by Sanatan Jagaran Mancha of Rourkela, the ceremonial procession passed through 30 districts of Odisha before reaching Puri.(UNI)
