JAMMU, Feb 20: A delegation of Shri Amarnath Barfani Langers Organization (SABLO) called on Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), R K Gupta here today and discussed the problems of yatris and those NGOs installing langers during the yatra period.
As per a release, the SABLO delegation demanded handing over of security and maintenance of law and order of Shri Amarnath yatra to Army and para military forces, expressed concern over SASB’s role towards the NGOs whose tents were set afire and looted by anti social elements last year, demanded prior consultation be held with SABLO before the commencement of yatra by SASB and maintenance of status quo regarding allotment of site and number of Bhandaras as was prevalent during yatra of 2013.
The delegation urged CEO that SASB should shun the policy of divide and rule, expressed concern over the letter by SASB to Divisional Commissioner Jammu and termed it a part of conspiracy against SABLO, demanded that number of yatris per day be increased to 15000 to accommodate nine lakh yatris in a month, development of infrastructure in compliance to the orders of Supreme Court, resumption of on line registration of yatris, resumption of on spot registration, simplification of process for issuance of CHC and abolition of age certificate, all doctors on the panel of LIC and other insurance companies private doctors should also be allowed to issue CHC, allowing langer and Bhandara organizations to give night shelter to pilgrims.
It accused the Board of becoming commercial organization, demanded deletion of penalty clause for obtaining permission letters for setting up langers, stressed on supply of subsidized petroleum products and food grains, construction of more public toilets and their proper maintenance, demanded that yatra permit should be valid for a period of 10 days and there should be live telecast of darshan at holy cave.
The meeting was also attended by Jitender Singh and P P Singh Additional CEOs and Pankaj Anand Deputy, CEO.
The SABLO was represented by Vijay Thakur, its president and Rajan Gupta, general secretary.
