Russia maintains contact with Iran: Deputy Foreign Minister

MOSCOW, Mar 23: Russia maintains contacts with Iran, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said on Monday.

“Our minister has constant contacts with colleagues from the Gulf countries, contacts with the Iranian Foreign Minister. We are in real time, working with everyone,” Rudenko told reporters on the sidelines of the international conference Russia and India – towards a new agenda for bilateral relations.

The situation at the Bushehr nuclear power plant is calm, and Russia demands a response from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the shelling of the plant, the diplomat said.

Russia hopes that the United States will not shell the Bushehr NPP in the context of the ultimatum set by US President Donald Trump, Rudenko said.
