MOSCOW, Nov 24 : Most of Krasnoarmeysk (also known as Pokrovsk) is under the control of the Russian armed forces, Ukrainian troops are encircled and suffering serious losses, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) head Denis Pushilin said on Monday.
“In the Krasnoarmeysk direction, in the city itself, most of which is now under the control of the Russian armed forces, efforts to grind down the enemy continue. The enemy is encircled and suffering serious losses,” Pushilin told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.
Russian forces are advancing from an additional direction to rapidly liberate Krasnoarmeysk as well as the Dimitrov (Myrnohrad) agglomeration, the DPR head said.
The Ukrainian armed forces are abandoning equipment and wounded personnel while retreating from central Konstantinovka (Kostyantynivka), Pushilin said. Meanwhile, Russian troops have strengthened their positions to the southeast and south of Konstantinovka, he added.
