KATHUA, May 13: A deputation of residents of Panchayat Tridwan led by its Sarpanch, Kartar Singh called on Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Vikas Kundal in connection with various problems being faced by rural population in these hot days.
While addressing the media persons, Sarpanch Kartar Singh said that the Panchayat Tridwan is facing acute shortage of drinking water and PHE Department is not supplying the water with water tanker.
They demanded water tanker be pressed into service to supply the water to the area to meet the crisis of drinking water.
The deputation also showed serious concerns about the unwanted delay by contractor in road works from Hatli to Tridwan.
They said that sub standard work is done and the works of culvert, mini bridge is left in middle. The rainy season is coming and villagers will suffer in crossing the river with out bridge, they added.
They also demanded the speed up of road development works and school building construction works and maintaining the quality of works. The Sarpanch alleged that the works going on is not up to mark. The construction work of six room school building is also sub standard and wastage of Government money.
He appealed the Deputy Commissioner to solve their grievances at the earliest and investigate the construction works going on in the Panchayat. The deputation included Bharat Kumar, Dev Raj , Raj Singh , Krishan Lal and Shanti Devi.
