Preparation for Panchayat, ULB elections

JAMMU, Apr 11: A meeting of Block Presidents of Jammu Rural District Congress was organized by its District president, Neeraj Kundan.
The meeting was chaired by Working president, Raman Bhalla and it focused on strengthening the party organization at grassroots level in preparation for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.
Former Minister G.M Saroori and former MLC Ved Mahajan were also present.
Bhalla directed all Congress workers to intensify the movement against the proposed US trade deal.
Neeraj Kundan strongly demanded immediate compensation for the farmers of Jammu Rural whose crops, especially wheat and vegetables have been damaged in the recent hailstorm and heavy rains.
G.M Saroori highlighted the importance of Panchayats and Municipalities in building a strong party organization.
Former MLC Ved Mahajan stressed on the need for strengthening the Congress organization at grassroots level and urged all block presidents and workers to connect with the people at the village and ward level.
Detailed discussions were held on organizational strengthening, workers mobilization, effective election management strategies and farmers’ issues.
In his concluding remarks, District president Neeraj Kundan expressed full confidence in the team.
Prominent leaders who attended the meeting were Kalidass, Kailash Saini, Vijay Tagotra, Romal Singh, Jagataar Singh, Daljeet Singh, Sham Lal, Rajkumar Sharma, Kaka Ram Sharma, Ashok Sharma and others.
