KATHUA, Dec 18: The enforcement team of RTO Kathua conducted an extensive vehicle inspection drive. The drive covered NHW Lakhanpur and several other routes across the district.
During the operation, a total of 530 vehicles were checked, out of which 193 were challaned for different traffic violations.
Besides, five buses, one maxicab, one load carrier and one three-wheeler were seized for operating without valid documents. The total fine collected through e-challans amounted to Rs 12,47,600.
While conducting the inspections, drivers were educated about essential road safety measures, including the importance of carrying valid vehicle documents, avoiding overspeeding and refraining from using mobile phones while driving-common causes of road accidents.
The checking drive was led by ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar, along with MVIs Surinder Kumar, Jatinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, SMVIs Neeraj Kumar, Rajan Verma, ASMVI S.K. Rana, and MVTAs.
