JAMMU, July 8: Aimed at ensuring road safety and curbing traffic violations, the Regional Transport Office team conducted a surprise crackdown on vehicles found violating transport norms.
The enforcement operation was carried out under the supervision of ARTO, Bipen Singh Charak and ARTO, Taramani Sharma, with checking points set up at multiple key locations, including Railway Station, Panama Chowk, RBI Chowk, Narwal, 4th Tawi Bridge, Ware House and BC Road.
During the drive, 380 vehicles were checked, 23 vehicles were e-challaned, 18 vehicles were seized and fines worth Rs 73,000 expected from e-challans.
The enforcement team was comprised officers included MVI Lakhwinder Singh, SMVI, Amanish Sharma and MVTA, Taranjot Singh.
