SRINAGAR, March 6: J&K RTI Movement (RTIM) has appealed to the authorities concerned to identify foreign tourists who have entered Kashmir valley in the last 2 months and were not screened for the Corona-virus.
In a statement RTIM Chairman, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said that government must gear up to tackle the corona-virus challenges in J&K and undertake massive screening of people who have remained in close proximity of foreign tourists during last few months since this viral disease came into existence.
“As per media reports as many as 70 tourists have entered Kashmir during the last 2 months and more than 30 had a history of travelling to China but they were not screened for COVID-19 infection in Kashmir,” he claimed.
Bhat said that the authorities need to find out where these people visited and accordingly screen the people who remained close to them.
“If some of these tourists are still in valley, they should be immediately tested,” he maintained.
