Srinagar, May 27: Government today said that it has submitted a project estimate of Rs.95.30 crore to Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India (GOI) for the restoration of Batote- Kishtwar- Sinthan pass which was declared National Highway NH-1B in 2001.
In a written reply to a question of MLA G M Saroori, the Minister Incharge said due to heavy rains, flash floods and slips that occurred in the month of September 2014 and April 2015, various stretches of road were damaged.
“Works amounting to Rs. 8.93 crore were executed to restore the road up to September- October 2015. In addition to this 40 spots were identified and the works such as construction of retaining wall, Breast walls and Pucca drains were executed as per the instructions of then chief minister at the cost of Rs 12.00 crore,” he said.
