SRINAGAR, May 25: Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Srinagar has imposed Rs 75000 fine on 12 food business operators, which included butchers and nanwayies for violating sanitary and hygienic requirements under Food Safety and Standards Act.
The butcher, nanwayies, chicken sellers and bakers have been directed to maintain high standard of hygiene within their premises otherwise strict action under law will be taken against them. The butchers are directed not to keep meat and chicken carcasses hanging outside their shops for display as the same gets infected by dust and smoke.
In the meantime, 11 more cases have been filed in competent court against butchers, nanwayies and milk sellers for violating the sanitary and hygiene requirements under FSSA Act.
