JAMMU, Sept 14: To honour and felicitate National vice-president and Member Rajya Sabha, Avinash Rai Khanna and Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj, Dewana Mandir today organised a glittering function in the Dewana Mandir complex, here.
Chairman, Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj (SDNS) and senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi felicitated the dignitaries and presented tokens of appreciation.
On the occasion, Avinash Rai Khanna who is in-charge BJP unit J&K was presented with a traditional mace and State president, BJP Jugal Kishore was presented a sword.
The leaders also formally inaugurated the preparations for forthcoming Ram Leela celebrations.
State President, BJP Jugal Kishore released Rs five lac for the Dewana Mandir auditorium and allied development works.
Appreciating work of the Natak Samaj, Avinash Rai said that in today’s fast moving world attracting youth towards activities which promote character building and depicting the life and teachings of Lord Rama through drama is a service to the society. He said that need of the time is to deviate the attention of youth drugs and other such menaces.
Expressing gratitude for the help extended by MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi said that the auditorium has come up in the complex and funds would go a long way in early completion of the works. He said the Natak Samaj has been organising the Ram Leela and the Dewana Mandir Ram Leela has historic importance in the region.
Prominent members of the Natak Samaj who were present on the occasion include Anil Masoom president, Sat Paul Sharma general secretary, Deepak Aggarwal V.P. Chamber of Commerce and Director Natak Samaj, Gurdar Sharma Director.
Other artists of were also present at the event include, Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Sanjeev Kerni, Kewal Krishan, Subash Jamwal, Sahil Mahajan, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Rajinder Narang, Prahast, Brigunandan and Raj Kumar.
