Jammu, Nov 1: MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Constituency Baldev Raj Sharma today mentioned about major developmental initiatives, welfare projects, and issues raised with the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister and other senior officials.
The MLA expressed gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha for assuring the direction for installation of Air Conditioners in the Ayushman Ward at Narayana Hospital, Kakryal, approving Rs 5 crore for an Indoor Stadium in Katra, and sanctioning CSR funds for the repair of school buildings damaged by recent heavy rains in District Reasi and the SMVD Constituency.
He also raised key issues before the LG, including Chenab River water supply to Katra, 24×7 power supply, completion of the Smart Roads Project, and measures to strengthen coordination between the local community and the Shrine Board.
During the recent Assembly session, the MLA urged the Government to expedite the IMS and Sewerage Projects, sought resumption of the SRTC bus service from Jammu to Sujandhar, and refuted claims that hotels in Reasi are on government land, clarifying that all are built on private land.
He further discussed key infrastructure works with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Transport Minister, including the 160-metre RCC Double Lane Bridge at Jhajjar and PMGSY roads in the Bhomag region.
“Transparency, accountability, and equitable growth are my top priorities. Every section must benefit from development,” the MLA said.
