REASI, Nov 24: Additional Deputy Commissioner today imposed penalty of Rs 39,000 on Food Business Operators (FBOs) whose food samples were found sub-standard and misbranded.
Food Safety Officer, HQ Reasi and Food Safety Officer Katra lifted the samples of food items from these FBOs and sent for analysis.
On getting the reports, the prosecutions were launched before the ADC (Adjudicating Officer) by the FSOs under section 51 and 52 of FSSA 2006 today.
After hearing both the parties, the court imposed a penalty of Rs 39,000 on the FBOs and warned to be honest in their food business in future as the matter is related with the health of the general public.
Food Safety Officers of District Reasi were also directed to lift more samples of food articles to check the adulteration.
