Rs 1.20 cr earmarked for Jeevan Nagar-Maralian road: Bhalla

JAMMU, Nov 1: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said that Rs. 1.20 crore have been earmarked for macademisation of 9-kilometer long Jeevan Nagar-Maralian village road including upgradation of deep drain, adding that ongoing projects have been completed within specific time frame.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the people after kick starting macademisation work on Jeevan Nagar-Maralian village road, here today.
Mr. Bhalla asked the Executive Engineer R&B to ensure proper monitoring and use of quality material, adding that Government has resolved to create concrete assets in every corner of the State. He called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the ongoing works within prescribed time frame.
The Minister said that during the past four years of the present regime, unprecedented development has been witnessed across the State. He said that during this period, several projects under R&B, PHE, I&FC, RDD, Education and PDD sectors have been taken in hand to meet the requirement of the people. He asked the executing agencies to make optimum use of funds and complete the projects under PHE, ERA, Irrigation and Flood Control sectors in a time bound manner. He urged the people to personally monitor the development works being executed in their respective areas.
Earlier, Bhalla also visited Trikuta Nagar Ward No. 53 and kickstarted upgradation work of internal link roads, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 12 lakh.
Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 3.41 crore under Basant Vihar Water Supply Scheme(WSS) for digging of 15000 gallon per hour discharge capacity deep drill tube well. He said the project would meet the drinking water requirements of Basant Vihar, Bhawani Vihar, Laxmi Enclave, Chopra Lane, Kho Wali Gali, Manyal Lane, Marakadi, Trikuta Nagar Extension and Adarsh Enclave areas having a population of 7500 souls. He said with the commissioning of the tube well in April 2013, these localities would get adequate drinking water supply at least three times a day. He called upon the people to use water judiciously.
