JAMMU, Feb 27: The People’s Hut Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Relief and Rehabilitation (M) J&K, organized a comprehensive “Free Multi-Specialty Medical Camp” today at Muthi, near here. The initiative, aimed at providing high-quality healthcare to vulnerable populations, served a total of 267 patients.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), alongside Vijay Kumar Sharma (DC Relief) in presence of Rockey Pandita and Kamal Ganjoo. The key members of the People’s Hut Foundation who organized the camp included Dr. Rohit Koul, Director People’s Hut Foundation, Ritu Koul, Dr. Irfan Ahmad Lone, and Lalita Sharma. This medical camp is a core component of the “Mobile Health Clinic Programme,” to improve healthcare accessibility across J&K. The programme was supported by Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity under their “Sehat Choupal Initiative” along with Sharp Sight Eye Hospital and the Directorate of Ayush.
During the event, local population had access to a wide array of specialist consultations, including Internal Medicine & General Physicians, Orthopedics & Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology (Eye Testing & Screening), Free Ayush and Allopathic Medicines.
JK Medicity provided specialist doctors, including Dr. Narem Khatri and Dr. Wahab, coordinated by Marketing Head Dinesh Sharma.
The Directorate of Ayush J&K was represented by Dr. Himani Bhutyal and Dr. Sunil Bhat, who provided traditional wellness services along with Vijay Kumar Bhat and Mohinder Singh. Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu conducted comprehensive eye screenings and vision consultations and was led by Deepak Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Ankita Mahatha and Diksha.
Inaugurating the camp, Dr. Arvind Karwani urged residents to take full advantage of these specialized services. “The overwhelming response highlights the critical need to bridge the gap between specialized facilities and those who struggle to access them,” Dr. Karwani stated. He further promised continued Government support for future camps catering to underprivileged sections of society.
