RR organizes free medical camp, lecture on AIDS

BHADERWAH, June 15: The Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhaderwah under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) organized a free medical camp and lecture on AIDS for local populace of tehsil Bhaderwah  at Jammu University Campus, Bhaderwah.
For the purpose, a Medical Inspection Room was established in premises of campus. The M I Room was inaugurated by  G M Bhatt, Rector, Bhaderwah.
Following a lecture on AIDS by Medical Officer of Rashtriya Rifles, an interaction with the students was also organized. The entire faculty of the  Campus along with students and Second-in-Command, Rashtriya Rifles along with one officer was also present on the occasion.
Dr Paul Denton from UK, who is seismologist of British Geological Survey, also conducted a lecture on Seismic Activity. He was accompanied by Dr Bindra Thusu who is a Petroleum Geologist from MPRG University College, London.
A large number of patients turned up for the free medical check-up from Hadal, Badrot, Sitengal and nearby villages. Medical Officer of Rashtriya Rifles provided the much needed specialized medical cover to the ladies, children and elderly people during the course of the camp.
During the camp a total of 107 patients were treated. They included 34 women, 47 male  and 26 children.
Army also distributed free medicines, Health, Nutrition and  Child Care pamphlets to the parents and elder citizens in order to spread medical awareness amongst the local populace.
