RPHQ Jammu organizes awareness campaign on drug abuse

KATHUA, Dec 11: The Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Jammu conducted a significant campaign against drug abuse today, aiming to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and its negative impact on society.
The event, held under the Civic Action Programme, featured a Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the Nav Durga Kala Manch, led by Shazi Khan, at Mukherjee Chowk, Kathua.
The campaign was guided by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to SSP Kathua Shobhit Saxena and SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch.
Addressing the media, Rajinder Singh Katoch emphasized that drugs are a poison that destroy lives and urged the public to stay away from them.
He highlighted the growing trend of drug use among youth and stressed the importance of sensitizing every section of society about its harmful effects.
As part of the awareness initiative, students from Kids Heaven School Kathua performed a play on drug abuse, which was well-received by the audience.
Both the Nukkad Natak team and the students were awarded cash prizes by RPHQ Jammu for their outstanding performances.
The program was appreciated by the general public, who thanked the Jammu & Kashmir Police for organizing such an informative and entertaining event.
Several prominent figures, including DySP Headquarters Kathua Manjeet Singh, DySP DAR Kathua Subash Chander, and SHO Kathua Ajay Chib, attended the event.
The event was smoothly conducted by Anchor PSI Kiran, along with SI Suresh Kumar, ASI Jasvir Singh, and SgCt Ishant Sharma, who ensured its successful execution.
