JAMMU, Sept 29: Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Jammu today organised a one-day national seminar to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event, themed “The Vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047,” was held at the auditorium of PSPS Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu.
The seminar was organized under the command of DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range Shiv Kumar Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Staff Officer to DIG.
Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while DIG Sharma attended as Guest of Honour.
The gathering also included senior professors, deans, and police officers, who were warmly welcomed at the start of the program.
Resource persons Dr Varun Sharma from GCW Udhampur, Dr Harmeet Singh from GDC Katra, and Dr Piyush Kant Sharma from GDC Ramnagar spoke on the vision and legacy of Sardar Patel.
They underlined his decisive role in uniting the nation post-Independence and his unwavering commitment to building a modern, integrated India.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Sharma emphasized that the objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among youth about Patel’s vision of national unity and development.
He said such programs bring police and community closer while encouraging students to draw inspiration from the lives of great leaders.
“Let us commit ourselves to building an India that is united, honest, and selfless,” he added.
Chief Guest Prof Chandrasekar appreciated the initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in organizing the seminar and expressed hope that similar events would continue in the future.
Mementoes were presented to the Chief Guest and speakers as a mark of respect.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Shivani Sharma, Convener of the event.
A large number of students, NCC cadets, faculty members, and police personnel participated in the program.
