JAMMU, June 28: Royal Club Poonch and Vriddhi Royals Jammu registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament, being played at different venues in Jammu division.
The tournament is being organised under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA and Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission.
At Sports Stadium Poonch, winning the toss and batting first, Royal Cricket Club scored a decent total of 218 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Sajjad scored magnificent 103 runs. For Loran Club, Nazakat took 3 wickets, while Javed and Afzal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Loran Cricket Club scored 172 runs in 31 overs. Nazaqat and Akram scored 35 and 28 runs to the total respectively. For Royal Club, Aftar and Shoib took 3 wickets each. Sajjad was adjudged as the man of match for his superb batting display.
The match was officiated by officiated by Sachin, Vikas Toofan and Umran Shah.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground Jammu, Vriddhi Royals defeated Star XI in an easy contest by 77 runs. Shivam Koul and Aryan Gandral were the top performers. While Shivam scored 89 runs, Aryan contributed 66 runs and took 2 important wickets. For his magnificent innings of 89 runs, Shivam of Vriddhi Royals was adjudged as the man of the match.
