JAMMU, July 22: In a significant step towards preventing cervical cancer, the Rotary Clubs of Jammu, in association with Rotary Club Bombay Pier, conducted HPV vaccination drive benefiting 70 underprivileged girls.
The initiative witnessed the vaccination of 22 girls from SOS Home, Narwal and 38 girls from slum areas of Trikuta Nagar, marking a vital milestone in community healthcare outreach.
Anusuya Jamwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, graced the occasion as chief guest while Dr. Shashi Sharma, former Principal, GMC Jammu, attended as a special guest and delivered an insightful talk on Cervical Cancer awareness and prevention.
The event commenced with welcome address by Shivani Choudhary, president Rotary Club Jammu Tawi.
Karuna Gupta conducted proceedings as ‘Master of Ceremony’. Vaishali Goel presented vote of thanks.
The project was steered under the leadership of Project Directors—Meena Jamwal and Pooja Malhotra, who ensured the smooth execution of the initiative.
PDG Dr. Dushyant Choudhary extended his appreciation to all participating Rotary Clubs – Jammu Tawi, Jammu Helping Hands, Aastha, Bahu, Stars, Jammu Midtown and Akhnoor Chenab – for their collaborative efforts in making the drive a success.
