JAMMU, Jan 14: The Rotary Club of Jammu City distributed 900 blankets to the needy people living in slums, open areas and in tents around Jammu Airport and Railway Station.
This community service project was undertaken with the support of Rotary Club of Chandigarh Shivalik and Rotary Club of Chandigarh Central under the CSR initiative of Girdhari Lal Constructions Pvt Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Sharma, president, Rotary Club of Jammu City, expressed heartfelt gratitude and said that the Club is highly thankful to Rotary International District 3070 Governor, Rohit Oberoi, for proactive initiative in connecting the Rotary Club of Jammu City with Rotary Clubs of Chandigarh.
This collaboration enabled the procurement of warm blankets from Girdhari Lal Constructions Pvt Ltd and ensured timely distribution to the most vulnerable sections of society during the extreme cold.
Rajesh Sharma further shared that District Governor Rohit Oberoi has launched several impactful service projects across the States of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab under the banner of ‘HUM 4 HUMANITY – Relief Mission’, aimed at supporting needy and underprivileged families through meaningful and sustainable humanitarian efforts.
He also extended sincere thanks to Ravi Prakash, District Governor, Rotary International District 3080; the Girdhari Lal Constructions Pvt Ltd team and all Rotarians of Chandigarh for their generous support.
