BISHNAH, Feb 10: A women empowerment drive, under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Initiative was launched by Ritika Trehan, Convenor Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) here today.
The drive was organized by Bishnah Convenor, Praveen Kumari with a strong focus on empowering rural women through self-reliance, entrepreneurship and awareness of centrally sponsored schemes meant especially for women.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from women belonging to self-help groups (SHGs), local communities and grassroots workers, reflecting a growing desire among rural women to achieve economic independence.
Addressing the gathering, Ritika Trehan emphasized that true women empowerment begins with economic self-sufficiency.
She inspired and motivated rural women to explore income-generating activities such as pickle making, jam and jelly preparation, papad, chutneys and other daily-use household products, which can be produced locally with minimal investment.
Ritika strongly advocated the role of Self-Help Groups as powerful instruments of social and economic transformation.
She explained how SHGs help women pool resources, share skills, access credit facilities and collectively market their products.
Ritika Trehan urged women to avail these schemes, stressing that lack of information often deprives beneficiaries of their rightful entitlements.
Ritika Trehan patiently addressed their concerns and assured continued handholding and follow-up support.
