Rich tribute paid to Dogri poetess Kiran

JAMMU, June 26: Dogri Sanstha Jammu organized a meeting at Kunwar Viyogi Auditorium, Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar (Jammu) to pay rich tribute to renowned Dogri poetess Usha Kiran ‘Kiran’, who passed away recently.
The meeting was attended by a number of Dogri writers and her family members, who remembered her immense contribution to Dogri literature, particularly poetry.
Prof Veena Gupta presented a detailed account of Usha Kiran’s literary journey and personal life. Prof Lalit Magotra, in his tribute, said her love for the Dogri language and regional culture was inspirational. Despite facing personal challenges, she remained committed to her responsibilities and used poetry as a powerful medium to express her inner strength.
Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’, general secretary of Dogri Sanstha, recalled her affectionate nature and encouragement towards promoting Dogri. He termed her demise a personal loss.
Others who paid tribute included Inderjeet Kesar, Vijay Verma, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Susheel Begana, Arvinder Singh ‘Amn’, Krishna Prem, Prof Archana Kesar, Dr Bansi Lal Sharma, Dr Ashok Khajuria, and several family members.
