JAMMU, Jan 23: Shiv Sena groups here today paid rich tribute to Bala Saheb Thackeray, founder of Shiv Sena on his birth anniversary.
Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit paid tribute to Bala Saheb Thackeray and vowed to protect Dogra cultural identity of J&K. In a programme organized by Shiv Sena in Bari Brahmana, party leaders including J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni paid tribute to Bala Saheb Thackeray and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on their birth anniversaries. Sahni said that Subhash Chandra Bose awakened the spirit of freedom and Bala Saheb awakened the spirit of Hindutva among Hindus.
Meenakshi Chhibber, Vikas Bakshi, Balwant Singh, Raj Singh, Shashipal, Pawan Singh, Mangu Ram, Sunita Kumari, Neelam, Shamlal, Narendra Kumar and many others were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, tribute were paid to Bala Saheb Thackeray by another Shiv Sena group also under the leadership of Ashwani Gupta, J&K head of the group. Speaking on the occasion Gupta urged the party workers to take inspiration from the life and achievements of Bala Saheb Thackeray in safeguarding the rights of deprived sections of the society.
On this occasion Javed Ahmed Hajam and Shuban Sharma joined Shiv Sena.
