JAMMU, Oct 31: Demanding  release of SSA salary and highlighting other genuine issues of the cadre ,  All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum has decided  to hold one day protest demonstration at all the district headquarters on November 10, 2016
This was announced by the  State president,  Vinod Sharma, during monthly meeting  of the Forum, held at Exhibition Ground Jammu on Monday.
He  lambasted the Education Department for its casual approach in streamlining  SSA salary,  which is pending for the last  3 to 4 months. “There is also huge pendency of pay arrears and DA arrears of regularized  ReTs which is a matter of great concern,” he added.
Vinod Sharma  said that they had  projected this issue from pillar to post but nothing concrete has been done so far to streamline SSA salary and the families of these teachers were  on the verge of starvation. ” They (teachers) were  unable to celebrate holy festivals like Diwali , Eid etc,  which is a matter of shame for the Education Department, which is not giving  salary  to its  employees,  especially SSA Teachers,” he said  and also alleged that the  ReTs were being  harassed on the name of transfer and other issues.
“We are  left with no  option other than to come on roads against these harassments.  On November 10 we  will hold protest at the District Headquarters and in front of SPD office  Jammu, for which the department is solely responsible,” Vinod Sharma said and appealed all the ReTs to reach at their respective district headquarters on November 10 to make the protest a success.
Others,  who  spoke during the meeting, included Bhupinder Singh, Rajesh Jamwal, Najam Jafri, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Naresh Sharma, Sajad Malik, Gulzabir Daing and Manzoor Khan.
