Retirees demand release of GP Fund, Gratuity

JAMMU, July 23: The retired employees/pensioners have demanded release of their pending GP Fund amount, Gratuity, computation amount and pending DA arrears of 18 months.
In a meeting of the J&K Retirees, Pensioners & Govt Employees Association held here today under the chairmanship of Kulwant Singh Sambyal, the retired employees expressed strong resentment over the delay of over one year in releasing GP Fund and Gratuity of the employees/ retirees. They pointed out that due to delay in the release of amount they are facing difficulty in construction./ repair of houses, medical treatment, in marriage and education of their grown up children/wards.
They said that the computation/ loan has not been received by them despite monthly deductions by the Treasury officers. They also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month as it has not been hiked for the last about twenty years.
They also demanded that the issue of daily wagers be resolved without any more delay as the general public is suffering and the Govt is unconcerned over the matter .
Many senior members including Pardeep Sharma, Rampal Chopra , Khem Raj, Ashwani Sharma, Uttam Singh, R L Bhat, Balwan Singh, Subhash Chander and others attended the meeting.
