JAMMU, Feb 5: All J&K Retired Police Personnel NGO & ORS Forum led by its President Ajit Singh met DGP and discussed various problems of police personnel.
During the meeting, the participants highlighted various issues including enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 as per 6th Pay Commission, free of cost medicines and treatment to be provided to the retired police personnel from the Police Hospitals, reimbursement of medical bills to the police retirees, reservation in recruitment of Police Department and professional courses at the rate of 15 per cent for wards of police personnel, sanction of at least Rs 50,000 at the time of marriage of daughters/sons of the police retirees as a financial help out of welfare funds, and at least 50,000 should be sanctioned at the time of death of police personnel/retirees for performing the last rites of the deceased.
They added that recently the Central Government has issued ordinance regarding one rank one pension. The State Government should also follow the same pattern in Police Department. They further stated that the Government Order No. 229-F of 2014, Dt 17-10-2014 is not acceptable regarding pay anomalies since the effect is being given prospective, which means the effect will be given from the date of order.
Ajit Singh also met Additional Director General SM Sahai, ADGP (Armed) in regard with issue of Police Personnel (Retd.) certificate by the concerned SP instead of the concerned Battalion.
In this regard, Sahai issued the order on the spot.
Meanwhile, the members of the Forum along with SSP Kathua Neeva Jain visited the house of Chaman Lal Verma (Retd ASI) at village Uttri in district Kathua, who met with an accident and received injuries.
Ajit Singh along with SSP Kathua Neeva Jain presented Rs 25,000 to Verma in presence of Sat Paul, District President, Mohammad Maqbool, Vice President, Ghulam Qadir and Ramesh Singh.
