JAMMU, July 5: Members of the Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum today staged a protest at Hari Singh Park, Jammu under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh to highlight pending issues related to pay anomalies and pension benefits.
The forum raised four key demands before the Jammu and Kashmir Government. They stated that Government order number 229-F of 2014 regarding pay anomalies was implemented prospectively, whereas it should have been applied from 1996 when the 5th Pay Commission was enforced.
The Forum members claimed that many affected retired police personnel have since passed away, and the surviving members are still waiting for justice.
The forum also pointed out that only retirees after 2019 are being issued ECH cards. They demanded that this medical facility be extended to all those who retired before 2019 as well.
Further, they called for the release of pending gratuity under Article 242 of the Civil Services Rules, saying that pension fixation as per DDO records should be completed for all eligible personnel.
The members added that a Tribunal Court has already passed a judgment in their favour, and they now expect the Government to implement the order without further delay.
