JAMMU, Feb 10: All J&K Retired Police Personnel NGO, & ORS Forum has urged the Government to settle their long pending demands especially the removal of pay anomaly as recommended by Pay Anomaly Committee in favour of Constables, head constables and ASIs at an earliest.
In a statement issued here today Sat Paul Sharma president of the Forum warned that in case of any delay the Forum will be constrained to launch agitation.
He also demanded that the separate ground fitness tests be conducted for in service SPOs for their recruitment as constables. He said the Department is conducting the fitness tests of these SPOs for their recruitment as constables along with other candidates. But majority of these SOPS who have attained the 35 years of age can’t compete with the fresh candidates.
He said the Forum also appeals all the retired police personnel to join the rally on March 5 in front of Press Club which will later move towards Civil Secretariat.
Mr Sharma said that it is a pity that Government after constituting the Pay Anomaly Committee failed to implement its recommendations in letter and spirit. He said the Committee in its report had recommended the removal of pay anomalies for Constables, Head Constables and ASIs. While it recommended that the ASIs and Head constables be given retrospective effect but the same has not been implemented by the Department and it gave the effect prospectively.
