JAMMU, Dec 19: Retired employees of J&K Road Transport Corporation held strong protest demonstration in support of their demands here today.
The retirees from the Govt Transport Corporation, under the banner of All J&K RTC Retired Employees Association led by Romesh Singh Bhau, its president, assembled near Press Club of Jammu today and held protest demonstration. Raising banner and placards these members were shouting slogans against the Transport authorities and the JKUT Government. They were also raising slogans projecting their demands.
Both, Romesh Singh Bhau and Dev Raj Bali, president VRS/GHS Union criticized the Transport authorities, SRTC Management and Finance department for ignoring the long pending issues of the retired JKRTC employees. They said despite repeated requests and protest dharnas, the SRTC Management/ Transport authorities failed to release COLA and DA arrears of the retired employees for the last many years.
They strongly demanded that Cost of Living Allowance arrears with effect from June 1999 to Dec 31, 2005; 6th Pay Commission arrears from Ist Jan 2006 to March 2012; DA arrears from April 2012 to March 2021 and pension benefits of the retired/ VRS given employees of SRTC be released without any more delay.
GS Tohra, Rajinder Sawhney, P P Singh and Ram Paul also spoke on the occasion.
