JAMMU, Mar 20: The annual convention of the Retired Central Armed Police Forces Warriors Association J&K was held, here today at Laxmi Palace, Santra Morh wherein various demands and problems of the retired Paramilitary personnel were highlighted.
JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion, while Narinder Singh Bhau was guest of honour. The function was presided over by J&K president of the Association, Ram Lal Dogra.
The programme started with paying floral tributes to the soldiers who were martyred in terrorist attacks. Ex-personnel from Paramilitary forces, their family members and dependents were also present in the meeting.
The members of the Association projected various demands as well as the problems being faced by them in front of the chief guest and guests of honour. The major demand was to remove disparity in the pay scales between Army and Paramilitary forces and demanded special pay should be granted to Paramilitary personnel at par with Army.
The Association also demanded implementation of OROP in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and restoration of old pension scheme as applicable before 2004, 100 percent waive off in GST on the products in CPC canteen, constitute Paramilitary Sainik Welfare Board at District level and well as separate Kendriya Vidyalaya facilities to Paramilitary personnel.
The Mayor said that the Central Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are working day in and day out for accomplishing the task relating to national interest. He also assured the Association to discuss all its demands with high command for its resolution.
