JAMMU, July 11: A retired Deputy Director (DD) of J&K Health Services was killed, while another person was injured, when an unknown vehicle hit them near Muthi, falling under the jurisdiction of Domana police station.
A police spokesman said that, a retired Deputy Director namely Dr Bal Krishan Koul, son of Sham Lal of Rajinder Nagar, Bantalab and Ashok Razdan, son of Prem Nath of Gurah Keran, Bantalab were standing along the road side near Muthi, when an unknown vehicle hit them, late last night.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted them to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where Dr Bal Krishan Koul failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries early this morning, whereas the condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
