JAMMU, June 11: A retired BSF Constable was today found dead in a hotel room here in Jewel area.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased identified as Abdul Hamid (40) son of Gulam Mohd, resident of Shinder (Poonch) was a heart patient and was living in Hotel Ganpati for some days for getting some diagnostic done on him from Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
He said today when the man did not open the door of his room till late morning, the hotel staff informed the police, which reached the spot and when broke open the door, found the man lying dead on his bed.
“Prima facie it appears that the man died due to cardiac arrest or some other heart ailment, for which he was undergoing treatment”, the spokesman said, adding, after completing post mortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. He said in this connection, Nowabad police has initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
