JAMMU, Dec 3: Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers staged a protest demonstration at the Directorate of School Education complex, here today, bringing to the fore issues concerning this section of teachers for long.
The protest was held under the leadership of Neenu Lata, who appealed the Education Minister to solve their issues like release of salary under SSA. Others who spoke on the occasion, included Ashwani Sharma, Ram Lal, Sandeep Sharma, Sangeeta, Saroj, Ambika and others.
Later, the protesting ReTs also submitted a memorandum to Director School Education Jammu.
Reports from Reasi said that a similar protest was held there by the ReTs, who were demanding revocation of the Government order for conducting a screening test for ReT teachers, release of their salaries and implementation of the court orders directing Government to regularize the services of ReT teachers.
The teachers in hundreds assembled at Parade Ground Reasi and shouted slogans highlighting their plight. A protest march was also taken out from the Sports Stadium to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
“We are not against the screening tests but if the same are to be conducted, general line teachers should also go through the test,” said Bhadur Singh, district president of the ReT Teachers’ Forum, Reasi.
