UDHAMPUR, Oct 2: A monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum was held here today under the presidium of State president Vinod Sharma and district president Lekh Raj Parihar to discuss the demands and issues of the ReTs.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma drew attention towards the issue of SSA salary, which is still pending for the last 2 to 3 months and SSA teachers are suffering a lot as they are unable to provide basic amenities like food and clothing to their children and medicines to their ailing parents. He said that SSA salary is a chronic issue and the department has failed to streamline the same and even there is also a huge pendency of pay arrears, DA arrears, 6th Pay Commission arrears etc, but instead of streamlining the SSA salary issue, the department is utilizing huge funds out of SSA on training of thousands of teachers.
“We are not against such in- service training of teachers but what is the fun of such trainings when the teachers are suffering for the want of salary even on the festival season like Navratras, Karva Chouth, Diwali,” he said and warned that the Forum would be forced to gherao SPD office and come on roads by locking their schools if the pending salary is not released immediately.
He also expressed great concern on the slow pace of regularization process and appealed the Director School Education Jammu to issue the regularization orders of the ReTs whose objections have been cleared.
During the meeting, ReT Forum also demanded the implementation of High Court order regarding transfer of regularized ReTs and said that those already transferred not be harassed any more.
Others, who also spoke, included Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Ashok Seth, Pritam Goswami, Chain Singh , Shamsher Singh, Vipin Sharma, Anil Sharma, Rekha Thakur and Jai Parkash.
