UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Udhampur East, today kickstarted the restoration work of denuded and damaged roads at Rakh Badali area of Udhampur, which were severely affected due to the recent spell of incessant rains and flash floods.
Speaking on the occasion, Pathania reaffirmed his commitment to restore every suspended and derailed network in the constituency — including drinking water supplies, electricity lines, and other essential public utilities — within the shortest possible time.
“Our cherished goal is to bring the entire system back on track. Every household and every essential service disrupted by the recent calamity will be restored with urgency and compassion,” said Pathania.
He informed that for the families whose houses were damaged or washed away, he will vouch in the ensuing Assembly session for providing 5 marla plots of land where they can rebuild their homes with dignity.
Supplementing Government efforts, Pathania announced that funds from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will also be channelled to aid restoration works and immediate relief.
While reviewing on-ground works, he emphasized that Udhampur’s development roadmap is not limited to temporary restoration but aims for long-term resilience and modernization.
“We are working to build Udhampur as a model constituency — with strong infrastructure, robust health and education facilities, sustainable water and power systems, and improved connectivity to every far-flung hamlet,” Pathania added.
He further stressed on adopting disaster-resilient engineering practices, revamping rural roads, and strengthening public infrastructure so that such calamities in the future cause minimal disruption to daily life.
The MLA was accompanied by Puran Chand (DDC Member), Ashraf, Romi, Harbaksh Singh, Yashpal, Parveen Singh, Ravinder, Janu, Dharmveer, and a galaxy of local people and party workers.
