KARGIL, Mar 11: The people residing in Sankoo Sub-Division of district Kargil held demonstration against power shutdowns and demanded immediate restoration of regular power supply.
The protestors stated that the power in the rural areas of Kargil district is being supplied through diesel generator sets and the same are lying idle in many parts of the district due to lack of funds.
They added that the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil is conducting an inquiry into the alleged malpractices of the Power Department in district Kargil, despite that there is no power supply.
After getting information, SDM Sankoo rushed to the spot and assured every possible action.
On the assurance of SDM Sankoo, the protestors dispersed.
