Srinagar, Nov 20: Eight structures comprising of residential houses and commercial units were gutted in a massive pre-dawn blaze in Reshi Bazar area of in Anantnag last night.

An official of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) told the Excelsior that they received fire call at 2:41 am today and immediately fire tenders were rushed to the spot. He said that a total eight structures comprising of residential houses, shops, stores and godowns were involved in the blaze.
The Reshi Bazar area is a congested neighborhood with a narrow road, he said, adding that 9 fire tenders and six pumping units were pressed into dousing of the blaze. After heavy efforts of locals and firemen, the fire was brought under control but property worth crores was destroyed. The F&ES official said cause of fire is being ascertained.
