POONCH, Nov 4: A three storey residential house was completely gutted in fire at Biadan Batalkote, Loran area of tehsil Mandi in District Poonch.
Official sources said that fire suddenly broke out in the house of Bashir Ahmed, son of Wahaba, after which locals followed by J&K Police started extinguishing it as many other houses nearby were in the range of this fire.
Later Fire and Emergency Services squad also reached the spot from Mandi but it was too late. Later another fire tender came from Poonch but by the time fire was brought under control, the residential house was completely gutted along with goods worth lakhs.
Locals said that even after so many years of independence, no Fire and Emergency vehicle has been stationed in the area for such emergencies. They urged the administration to provide assistance to the house owner so that he can build his house again.
