Residential house gutted due to LPG leakage

JAMMU, Apr 14: A two-storied residential house was gutted in fire due to LPG cylinders leakage near Garhi Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Kanachack police station.
As per police sources, LPG cylinders caught fire due to leakage in the residential house of Ramesh Kumar Sharma, son of Balak Ram at Garhi Morh. The cylinders later exploded.
On hearing a heavy sound alike to a grenade blast and seeing the flames billowing out of the house, locals informed the police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
After getting information, a team from Kanachack police station led by SHO Rakesh Singh rushed to the spot and assisted the fire fighters to douse the flames.
The flames were brought under control after hectic efforts, but till then the property worth several lakhs were completely gutted.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kanachack police station and investigation started.
